KPK Reveals Ridwan Kamil's Legal Status in Bank BJB Corruption Case

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has not yet determined the legal status of the former Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, in the alleged corruption case related to advertising funds by Bank BJB. Kang Emil-as he is often called-has not been declared a witness because he has not undergone examination despite the search of his house by KPK investigators.
"Currently, he has not been called as a witness in this case," said the KPK's Investigative Task Force Chief, Budi Sukmo, as quoted by Tempo from KPK's official YouTube channel on Saturday, March 15, 2025.
Budi emphasized that the summons for Ridwan Kamil will definitely be carried out to confirm all the evidence seized during the search of his house on Monday, March 10, 2025. Not only Ridwan Kamil, all individuals suspected of being connected to the Bank BJB corruption case will be examined. "We will soon summon all witnesses whose houses were searched to clarify the seized evidence," he said.
In this case, the KPK has named five suspects in the alleged corruption case involving advertising funds at the West Java and Banten Regional Development Bank or Bank BJB, namely the President Director Yuddy Renaldi (YR) and the Commitment Making Official (PPK) and also the Head of the Corsec Division at BJB, Widi Hartoto (WH).
The other three suspects are from private parties, namely the controllers of the Antedja Muliatama agency and Cakrawala Kreasi Mandiri, Ikin Asikin Dulmanan (IAD), the controller of BSC Advertising agency and Wahana Semesta Bandung Ekspress, Suhendrik (S), and the controller of Cipta Karya Sukses Bersama, Sophan Jaya Kusuma (SJK). They were named as suspects on February 27, 2025.
