TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe start of 2025 presents the perfect opportunity to begin planning your travel adventures. Travel experts at eShores, a leading UK travel company, have curated a month-by-month guide to the most enticing destinations across Europe.

According to eShores, more than half of UK holidaymakers book their holidays three to six months in advance. Some even plan their entire year in January.

“January offers the year's best window for holiday planning. We're seeing a significant shift towards early bookings, with travelers securing better rates and prime accommodation before peak season demand drives prices up,” said Gavin Lapidus, founder of eShores, as reported by Express UK.

Here is a curated selection of the recommended travel destinations in Europe for each month of 2025:

1. January: Valletta

Malta's capital city, Valletta, is the perfect destination for a January holiday, according to travel experts at eShores. The UNESCO World Heritage city offers a captivating winter getaway with mild temperatures around 15-17 degrees Celsius and fewer tourists.

As reported by Malta Culture, Valletta, the heart of Malta, is a cultural hub that has a lot to offer to travelers. Beyond its role as the country's administrative and commercial center, Valletta has a strong focus on the arts. With restaurants, cafes, and bars catering to every taste and some interesting museums, this Maltese capital is a great place to visit.

2. February: Essaouira, Morocco

While many travelers to Morocco opt for more well-known cities like Marrakesh, Casablanca, or Fez, travel experts recommend visiting the chilled-out coastal gem of Essaouira. The city offers a delightful blend of balmy 18-20° Celsius weather, fewer crowds, and a distinctive bohemian vibe, all at a fraction of the price of other popular destinations.

3. March: Seville, Spain

Sevilla is the ideal destination for a March getaway, coinciding with the stunning orange blossom season, with comfortable temperatures of 20-24° Celsius and fewer tourists than the peak months. The city is bustling with street festivals during this time, such as Semana Santa (Holy Week, leading up to Easter) and Feria de Abril.

4. April: Lake Ohrid, North Macedonia

Discover Europe’s hidden lake paradise at Lake Ohrid, North Macedonia in April. This UNESCO gem offers crystal-clear waters and heritage charm. Experience mild weather with temperatures ranging from 18-22 degrees Celsius while enjoying a more budget-friendly alternative to the renowned Lake Como.

5. May: Puglia, Italy

Embark on an authentic Italian adventure in Puglia in May. Experience pleasant temperatures ranging from 22-26 degrees Celsius while exploring the region's picturesque coastal villages. Offering a more budget-friendly alternative to the popular Amalfi Coast, this stunning southern Italian region still offers sunshine, sea, and delicious food.

6. June: Åland Islands, Finland

The Åland Islands are one of Scandinavia’s best-kept summer secrets, offering a delightful blend of Nordic cuisine and captivating island-hopping adventures. With balmy temperatures of 24 degrees Celsius and 60 inhabited islands to explore, the Åland Islands are the ideal place for those looking for a crowd-free destination.

7. July: Šibenik, Croatia

Skip the bustling crowds of Dubrovnik this summer and head to historic Šibenik in Croatia. This coastal town is the gateway to the stunning Krka National Park and enjoys pleasant July temperatures of around 28 degrees Celsius.

8. August: Faroe Islands

Located halfway between Scotland and Iceland in the North East Atlantic, the Faroe Islands offer a relatively untouristed escape. These 18 mountainous islands with a total land area of 1,399 square kilometers and a sea area of 274,000 square kilometers have a population of around 55,000.

The islands offer visitors a range of natural experiences, from dramatic views of the wild sea to serene mountain landscapes to the nightlife of the capital Tórshavn. In August, the islands offer a welcome break from potential heatwaves with comfortable temperatures of around 15 degrees Celsius.

9. September: Lofoten Islands, Norway

September brings two natural delights to the Lofoten Islands. Days are adorned with the vibrant hues of Arctic autumn foliage, while nights are illuminated by the mesmerizing aurora borealis. All this is accompanied by pleasant temperatures of 18 degrees Celsius.

10. October: Zagori, Greece

As the temperatures start to drop, travel experts recommend spending a week or two in sunny Zagori. This Greek hotspot offers warm days reaching the mid-20s, secluded mountain villages, mouth-watering local cuisine, and epic hiking trails far from the island crowds.

11. November: Azores, Portugal

Escape the winter chill with a trip to Portugal’s Azores. This eco-tourism paradise offers temperatures in the mid-20s across nine volcanic islands, where hot springs meet the Atlantic waves.

12. December: Sal, Cape Verde

The island of Sal is one of the world’s most popular beach destinations, renowned for its crystal-clear turquoise waters, ivory-sand beaches, year-round mild climate, a variety of water sports, friendly people, and delectable food.

Sal has a tropical desert climate with distinct dry and wet seasons. For those seeking a winter escape to enjoy the beach, the period from October to July offers ideal conditions with minimal rainfall and low humidity.
