TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As the 2024 presidential election approaches, several prominent musicians have become more vocal in their support for Kamala Harris, who is now the Democratic candidate, replacing Biden. Many of these musicians have publicly endorsed Harris in various ways, highlighting their support through performances, social media posts, and public appearances.
Here’s a list of 10 musicians who have showed their support for Harris, as cited from Billboard and Rolling Stone :
1. Lil Jon
On the second night of the Democratic National Convention, Lil Jon made a surprise appearance to show his support for Kamala Harris. Entering the arena to the energetic beats of his 2013 hit Turn Down for What, the Atlanta producer excitedly told the crowd, “We are officially here tonight to nominate Kamala Harris for President.”
2. John Legend
John Legend has been openly voicing his support for Kamala Harris, particularly through a post on his Instagram feed. In the post, he shares a screenshot of his Threads, where he reflects on Biden's successful presidency and emphasizes that Harris is the right person to carry on the role.
3. Megan Thee Stallion
Megan Thee Stallion joined Kamala Harris' first campaign event in Atlanta as a performer. She energized the crowd by performing some of her hit songs, including Mamushi, Body, and the Savage remix. She also expressed her support on Instagram, sharing reels of herself and her dancers dancing to Mamushi with the caption hashtag “#HottiesforHarris,” rallying her fans to back Harris.
4. Bon Iver
On August 7th, Bon Iver gave a performance at a campaign rally for Harris-Walz, in Justin Vernon's hometown of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The indie singer ended his concert with an acoustic version of George Frederick Root's "The Battle Cry of Freedom," while wearing the famous Harris-Walz camouflage cap.
5. Lance Bass
Lance Bass appeared in one of Kamala Harris's early TikTok videos, clearly showing his support. In the video, the former NSYNC member poses the question, "Hey Kamala, what are we going to say to Donald Trump in November?" to which Harris responds with a line from a NSYNC song, "Bye, bye, bye!"
6. Mickey Guyton
Mickey Guyton agreed to play at the Democratic National Convention in August, demonstrating her support for Harris. She gave a performance of "All American," an upbeat show of inclusive patriotism that complemented the convention's theme of advancing a varied country.

Giving the approval of her song “Freedom” being used in Harris’ campaign, Beyoncé subtly confirmed her support for the presidency candidate. A couple days after the campaign, Harris’ campaign video is seen to use another song from Beyoncé as the background sound.

Through her Instagram feeds, Cardi B shares her thoughts on the presidential election, particularly how Harris should be the candidate. Even before Biden dropped out, the American rapper has shown her support for Harris by saying that it was a selfish action for Biden to still run for presidential candidate, where in fact she felt that Harris should’ve been the 2024 candidate.
9. Demi Lovato
Former Disney actress Demi Lovato has shown her support for Kamala Harris. Before sharing a photo with Harris on her Instagram story, Lovato reposted Biden’s endorsement of Harris, adding her own enthusiastic comment of “Let’s do this!!”
10. Taylor Swift
In her official Instagram account, Taylor Swift firmly stated that she’s on Harris’ side. She wrote a very long caption explaining why she finally will use her voice for Harris, particularly after the debate on September 10th. She even reposted the post to her story with a link directing her followers to vote for Harris.
