Police Chief Optimistic About IKN's Role in Achieving Golden Indonesia 2045

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo expressed optimism in the Nusantara Capital City or IKN as a catalyst for realizing the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045. He made the statement during a plenary cabinet meeting led by President Joko Jokowi Widodo at the Garuda Palace in East Kalimantan.

“We hope that IKN can become a center of national progress and a symbol of the nation's achievements towards Golden Indonesia,” he said as quoted from his Instagram on Friday, August 16.

He is committed to the National Police’s continued support for government policies in creating security and stability throughout the region, including the IKN. he highlighted the IKN's significance as not only an infrastructure milestone but also a new spirit in sustainable natural resource management. 

Therefore, he emphasized the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders to ensure the successful development of the IKN. With strong support, the IKN is poised to become a symbol of Indonesia's revival and a catalyst for a more advanced and prosperous nation.

Prior to the plenary meeting, the group visited the MBH Reservoir, a water conservation facility with a capacity of 66,000 cubic meters, in the new capital. Equipped with a smart water management system, the reservoir contributes to environmental sustainability in the IKN area.

The plenary cabinet session discussed various national strategic programs, including measures to accelerate the development of the IKN as the new capital city. President Joko Widodo reiterated the IKN's crucial role in achieving the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision, which aims to transform Indonesia into a developed country with a high level of welfare.
