Cartenz Peace Operation Issues Wanted List for New Zealand Pilot Muder Suspects

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Cartenz Peace Operation has issued a Wanted List for five alleged perpetrators behind the murder of Glen Malcolm Conning, the New Zealand helicopter pilot for PT Intan Angkasa Air Service.  

The five perpetrators are allegedly members of the armed criminal group led by Perek Jelas Kogoya, headquartered in Yuguru, Nduga Regency.

“Next, we will conduct investigations and law enforcement," said the Cartenz Peace Operation’s PR Chief, Senior Commissioner Bayu Suseno in his statement on Thursday, August 15, 2024.

Bayu said authorities have concluded crime scene investigation, evidence gathering, and witness probing. Based on the results of the investigation, the identities of the five alleged perpetrators are Perintakola Lokbere alias Malas Lokbere alias Malas Gwijangge, Jeri Wandikbo, Irisim Gwijangge, Jaka Gwijangge, and Analuk Amisim.

Cartenz Peace Operation strongly suspected that the shooting of the New Zealand pilot was carried out by the armed criminal group Perek Jelas Kogoya based on the results of the crime scene investigation in Alama District, Central Papua. 

"Based on the crime scene investigation and witness probing, it is strongly suspected that the perpetrators of the hostage-taking and murder of pilot Glen were armed criminal group Perek Jelas Kogoya," said Head of the Cartenz Peace Operation, Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani in an official statement quoted on Thursday, August 15, 2024. 

The murder suspects are charged with Article 338 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 (1) to 1, subsidiary Article 365 (3), subsidiary Article 170 (2) to 3 of the Criminal Code, subsidiary Article 351 (3) of the Criminal Code, namely crimes against the lives of people with a maximum punishment of 12 years in prison.
