TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin has stressed the importance of environmental sustainability in the construction of the Vice Presidential Palace in the Nusantara Capital City or IKN in East Kalimantan.
“The construction of the Vice President's Palace in Nusantara must prioritize sustainable and environmentally friendly practices,” he said during the groundbreaking ceremony of the VP Palace in Penajam on Monday, August 12, 2024.
He stressed that the construction should minimize environmental damage and support energy efficiency. He also called for the incorporation of local communities into the development process to improve the local community's standard of living while preserving cultural values.
The VP emphasized the need for high-quality construction materials, design, and security measures.
According to him, transparency and accountability throughout the construction process must be a concern and must be carried out transparently with the use of the budget, selection of work partners, and the decision-making process.
“All stakeholders must maintain integrity and work with full responsibility to ensure that the construction project of the VP’s Palace is free from all forms of deviation and misappropriation,” Ma'ruf Amin concluded.
