TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo announced that a total of Rp56.2 trillion has been invested in the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) development, excluding government funds. This figure was revealed during the first cabinet meeting held in the new capital on August 12, 2024.
The investment came from 55 companies across various sectors, including education, health, retail, logistics, hotels, energy, transportation, banking, offices, residential areas, green spaces, and media technology.
Jokowi emphasized the IKN's focus on green and digital economies. “[We are building] a green economy, digital economy, data center, financial center, and more,” he said as quoted from Antara.
Following the cabinet meeting, the president laid the first stone for an infrastructure project in the central government core area (KIPP), while Vice President Ma'ruf Amin initiated the construction of the Vice President's Palace. Four private companies—BCA, Swiss-Belhotel, Royal Golden Eagle, and Intiland—participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for the seventh phase of IKN development.
Endra S. Atmawidjaja, Expert Staff to the Minister of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) for Technology, Industry, and Environment, confirmed that the Vice President's Palace is located in the East Axis of KIPP IKN.
