"Given the large number of homemade firearms of various types, we are coordinating with the Densus 88 Police Headquarters to investigate whether this homemade weapons factory is linked to a terrorist syndicate or network," said Bogor Police Chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Rio Wahyu Anggoro said at a press conference at the Bogor Police Headquarters in Cibinong on Tuesday, August 6, as reported by Antara.
The Bogor police also coordinated with the West Java Regional Police's General Crime Division to conduct an in-depth investigation into the illegal business run by the suspect, AZ.
"Of course, the article we are applying may not stop here, we will develop it if there are future findings where new criminal offenses are discovered," he said.
Prior to the arrest of suspect AZ, Bogor Police had already arrested two suspects who acted as motorbike jockeys and shooters, namely AR (17) and SI (19).
Rio said the incident, which occurred on Saturday night, August 3, began as a brawl between two suspects and seven witnesses who had been arrested by the Bogor police. The two suspects then fired at their opponents, but the shots missed and instead hit a passing motorcyclist whom they mistook for an enemy group member.
Victim MAF (22) was bleeding from a gunshot wound to the head and was taken to Kramat Jati Police Hospital for medical treatment.
