9 Duties of Jokowi's Latest Task Force to Accelerate Investment in New Capital IKN

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) formed the Investment Acceleration Task Force in the country's new capital, the Nusantara, or (IKN). The formation of this task force is regulated by Presidential Decree No. 25 of 2024, which was signed on Monday, August 5, 2024.
The following are the nine responsibilities of the Investment Acceleration Task Force in IKN, as stipulated in Article 3 of the Regulation:
1. Promoting stronger policy coordination between the IKN Authority and related ministries/institutions and partner regions.
2. Coordinating land acquisition, zoning and spatial planning, and land development and use for priority investment activities in the IKN.
3. Coordinating environmental management and environmental permitting for investment activities in IKN.
4. Conducting joint promotional activities at home and abroad to increase investment in IKN.
5. Increasing synergy among stakeholders for the development of the financial center in IKN.
6. Facilitating business actors in obtaining business permits in IKN.
7. Facilitating business actors in obtaining ease of doing business, obtaining land rights and investment facilities.
8. Synergizing the availability of support facilities and infrastructure needed to accelerate investment activities.
9. Promoting the establishment of coordinated supervision and control over the implementation of investment activities in IKN.
As stipulated in Article 5, the Task Force for Investment Acceleration in IKN is chaired by the Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia. This means that this position is held by Bahlil, who was also appointed by Jokowi to chair the Sugar and Ethanol Self-Sufficiency Task Force.
