TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The higher education analytics portal EduRank released a list of the 100 best universities in Asia in 2024 in February. The rankings are determined by assessing research outputs, non-academic prominence, and alumni influence.
In more detail, EduRank analyzed 437 million citations received by 30.5 million academic publications generated by 5,380 universities in Asia, the popularity of 23,832 recognized alumni, and the largest reference database available.
Best Universities in Asia in 2024 According to EduRank
1. University of Tokyo
The University of Tokyo is ranked one of the best campuses in Japan and Asia. The university, founded in 1877, is ranked 20th in the world. The acceptance rate is 36 percent of the total 28,218 enrollment quotas.
2. Tsinghua University
Tsinghua University achieved the top position of the best campus in China but is second in Asia after the University of Tokyo. The university, founded in 1911, is ranked 39th in the world with 48,739 student capacity.
3. Kyoto University
Kyoto University is the second-best in Japan and 53rd in the world. The university, founded in 1897, recorded an acceptance rate of 11 percent out of 22,455 enrollment capacity comprised of 76 percent male students and 24 percent female students.
4. Peking University
