TEMPO.CO, Madiun - Indonesian train manufacturer PT INKA and its subsidiary, PT INKA Multi Solusi, shipped container flat top (CFT) wagons to New Zealand. A total of 96 units of flat carriages ordered by UGL Rail Services Pty Ltd were exported via the Jamrud Nilam Mirah Terminal, Tanjung Perak Port, Surabaya. The delivery was made by a cargo ship on Monday, June 10.
Agung Dwi Cahyono, Senior Manager for Public Relations and Representative Office of PT INKA, said it was the second shipment of dozens of CFT wagons. Previously, the company had sent 72 units of 50-foot flat wagons on January 31, 2024.
“This is an absolutely clear proof of INKA Group's contribution to Indonesia's economy and bilateral relations with foreign parties,” Agung said on Tuesday, June 11.
Stan Schafer, a representative from UGL Rail Services, said that the cooperation between PT INKA, its subsidiary, and his company had been established on an ongoing basis.
Therefore, he hoped for continuous partnership, particularly in the process of meeting the demand for railway facilities.
“This is the second time we have collaborated with PT INKA and PT INKA Multi Solusi to fulfill UGL Rails Services' flat carriage (CFT) needs,” Stan said. “We are satisfied with the performance and partnerships established so far. We hope to continue to have a good working relationship with PT INKA and PT INKA Multi Solusi in the future,” he continued.
The CFT Wagon delivery process to New Zealand takes about 20 days. A total of 96 flat carriages will later be handed over by UGL Rail Services Pty Ltd to KiwiRail, New Zealand’s largest rail transportation operator, as the end user.
