TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Eighteen people are in intensive care at the hospital following a fire at an LPG gas warehouse in North Denpasar, Bali on Sunday morning at 06:00. The city's fire department was only able to extinguish the fire at 10:30.
Bali Police PR Chief Sr. Comr. Pol Jansen Avitus Panjaitan, said 18 people who were injured in the gas explosion were receiving intensive treatment at five hospitals. "Most of them suffered severe burns and were employees of the warehouse. Currently, the victims are receiving intensive care at the hospital," Jansen said in Denpasar on Monday, June 10, as reported by Antara.
The warehouse that caught fire is located at Jalan Cargo II Number 6, Ubung Kaja Village. After checking the site of the incident, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga said the LPG warehouse was not an official agent or base.
The inspection team also found gas cylinders of subsidized sizes of three kilograms, 12 kilograms and 50 kilograms at the site, raising suspicion that the area was used to mix LPG.
"It is suspected that this place is a place where mixing is practiced," Rahedi, the area manager for communication, relations and CSR officer for Pertamina Patra Niaga East Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara, said in Depnpasar, Sunday.
For the official results, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga is still waiting for the results of the Bali Police Forensic Laboratory and Denpasar City Police investigations into the cause of the LPG warehouse fire.
