Jokowi Leaves for Nusantara After Resignation of Authority Head

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Joko Widodo or Jokowi departed for the new capital city of Nusantara (IKN) in East Kalimantan on Tuesday, June 4. The visit came a day after the resignation of the IKN Authority head Bambang Susantono.
The President was scheduled to attend a number of events, including the opening of the National Working Meeting (Rakernas) of the Association of Indonesian Municipal Governments (Apeksi) XVII 2024 and the inauguration of several infrastructure projects.
On Tuesday morning, Jokowi would open the Apeksi National Meeting and then lead the groundbreaking ceremony of a number of projects, such as the Gunadarma University, Summarecon Al Azhar, and the Mentawir Nursery.
Accompanying the President on the working visit were Minister of State Pratikno, Minister of Investment Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Public Works and Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Deputy Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Raja Juli Antoni, and Wishnutama Kusubandio.
On Monday, the Presidential Palace announced that the IKN Authority head Bambang Susantono and his deputy Dhony Rahajoe stepped down from their positions. Minister Pratikno did not elaborate on the reasons for the resignation, saying it had been long discussed.
Public Works and Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono and Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Raja Juli Antoni are appointed as the Acting Head and Acting Deputy Head of the IKN Authority.
