Gibran Rakabuming Talks of Prabowo's Plan for Alliance with Anies, Ganjar Camps

TEMPO.CO, Solo - Presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto has long professed his readiness, along with Gibran Rakabuming Raka, to lead as the next President and Vice President of the Indonesian people. He has also expressed his willingness to encompass all elements, including his two rivals from the 2024 election.

The Defense Minister believed that Anies Baswedan and Ganjar Pranowo shared the same vision and mission to advance the nation.

“Yes, everyone is welcome. Everyone has a vision and mission to advance the nation,” Gibran said when met at the Solo City Hall, Central Java, Wednesday, March 20.

However, he claimed that this step would be taken only if the Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md pairs were willing. So far, he said that there has been no communication with them.

“Yes, that will be done if they want to. We will follow up [on the meeting] again later,” the Solo Mayor said.

Gibran has expressed his desire to meet Anies-Muhaimin and Ganjar-Mahfud several times, hoping to get the opportunity to meet the four figures, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. 

When questioned about the reasons for the meeting and whether it was intended to soothe tensions after the heated presidential election, Gibran replied that the reason is because Ganjar and Mahfud are senior politicians, and he would like to meet them.
