TEMPO.CO, JakartaAn Indonesian ship worker named Nasrullah who works on the MV Titan Container Ship, experienced a long and challenging journey in his efforts to return home after serving a difficult prison sentence in Angola (13/3), according to the Indonesian Embassy in Windhoek.

However, thanks to support from various parties, including the Indonesian Honorary Consul, religious figures such as Father Karno, and the Indonesian community in Luanda, his repatriation journey was finally realized.

As reported from kemlu.go.id, Nasrullah's struggle began when he was detained for more than 6 (six) months in Comarca da Viana prison after being accused of stabbing his Ukrainian co-worker. Despite initially being released temporarily due to lack of evidence and unclear jurisdiction, Nasrullah remains stuck in a difficult situation. However, with strong determination and the right legal support, Nasrullah was finally declared permanently free by Angola's Attorney General's Office on March 7, 2024. The certificate of freedom became a ticket for Nasrullah to return to his homeland, Indonesia.

The challenge is not over for Nasrullah. Before his return, he had to fight the disease that attacked him. High fever, weakness, and doctor's diagnosis showed that Nasrallah had typhoid and malaria symptoms. Father Karno, swiftly, took her to the nearest doctor's clinic for treatment and treatment. After several days of treatment, Nasrullah was finally declared fit to return to Indonesia on March 13, 2024.

The presence of the Honorary Consul of Indonesia, Mr. Vicente, and the support of the Indonesian community in Luanda are very important in ensuring the process of Nasrullah's repatriation went smoothly. Despite facing several obstacles, including strict immigration checks at Luanda airport, Nasrullah was eventually allowed to continue his journey to Indonesia.

In the moment of his departure, gratitude to all those who had given unlimited support to Nasrallah became so strong. Indonesian Ambassador Wisnu also did not forget to express his appreciation and gratitude to Mr. Vicente, Romo Karno, and all Indonesian people in Luanda for all the assistance they provided.

The story of Nasrullah's journey is clear evidence that with strong determination and solid support from various parties, nothing is impossible to achieve. Nasrullah is expected to arrive in his hometown of Surabaya on March 15, 2024, where he will be greeted happily by his family. May Nasrullah's return bring abundant happiness and success in his beloved homeland.
