Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar Win Most Votes in Middle East Countries

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presidential candidate pair number 01, Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar, emerged victorious in the 2024 presidential election held in Middle Eastern countries. Based on the General Election Commission's (KPU) real count data of overseas election results, the pair managed to secure the majority of votes in countries including Turkiye, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.

In the United Arab Emirates, Anies-Muhaimin garnered a significant number of votes, with 1,459 votes in Abu Dhabi, surpassing their rivals Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka with 1,066 votes and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD with 343 votes. 

However, Anies lost to Prabowo in Dubai, where Prabowo received 1,793 votes as compared to Anies' 923 votes, while Ganjar secured 441 votes.

In Istanbul, Turkiye, Anies secured 1,086 votes, while Prabowo received 460 votes, and Ganjar received 84 votes. In Ankara, Anies received 1,524 votes, Prabowo got 749 votes, and Ganjar managed to secure 117 votes. The KPU's vote count in Turkey has reached 100 percent completion.

In Saudi Arabia, Anies has managed to garner a significant number of votes in two cities. In Jeddah, Anies received 10,394 votes, while Prabowo received 5,118 votes, and Ganjar secured 1,487 votes. In Riyadh, Anies received 3,294 votes, while Prabowo received 3,112 votes, and Ganjar secured 810 votes.

In Amman, Jordan, Anies also led with 530 votes, followed by Prabowo with 376 votes, and Ganjar with 45 votes. Meanwhile, in Cairo, Egypt, Anies' vote was unmatched. He received 6,996 votes, Prabowo 1,981 votes, and Ganjar 529 votes. The KPU's vote count in Egypt has also reached 100 percent completion.

Based on the KPU's real count as of this afternoon, Feb. 19, the agency has only completed 55.41 percent of the overseas election results. Prabowo-Gibran received the most votes with 55.78 percent, followed by Anies-Muhaimin with 23.46 percent and Ganjar-Mahfud with 20.76 percent.
