342,195 Vehicles Traveled Trans Sumatra Toll Road during Long Weekend: Hutama Karya

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Hutama Karya noted that 342,195 vehicles passed through a number of sections of the Trans Sumatra toll road (JTTS) during the long holiday last week. The SOE engaged in construction is one of the operators of the JTSS.
"This figure shows that it is around 22% higher than the normal traffic volume (VLL)," Tjahjo Purnomo, the company's EVP corporate secretary, said on Monday, February 12.
During the long holiday weekend for Isra Mi'raj and Chinese New Year 2024, a significant increase in traffic was recorded on the Trans Sumatra Toll Road from February 7 to 11.
Tjahjo Purnomo said most of the toll road sections in the JTTS saw a jump in vehicles passing, including the Terbanggi Besar - Kayu Agung Toll Road with 62,022 units, up 19% from normal VLL. The Palembang - Prabumulih toll road was passed by 71,393 vehicles, a 17% increase, while the Bengkulu - Taba Penanjung toll road saw 7,836 vehicles during the period, soaring 44% compared to normal days.
Meanwhile, the Pekanbaru - Bangkinang toll road recorded the most increase with 68%, totaling 28,923 vehicles.
Further north of the island, Hutama Karya also noted a 30-percent increase in the number of vehicles crossing the Binjai - Kuala Bingai Toll Road, totaling 43,000 units. The number of vehicles crossing the Sigli - Banda Aceh Toll Road reached 18,842 units, 45% higher compared to normal VLL.
