Presidential Debate: Prabowo Subianto Says Free Meal Program Will Eliminate Extreme Poverty

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto stated that free lunch and milk program for school children is a solution to overcome fundamental problems in improving the quality of life of the Indonesian people. He said this in presenting his vision and mission at the fifth presidential debate at the Jakarta Convention Center or JCC Senayan, Central Jakarta, Sunday, February 4, 2024.
Prabowo said he had a plan to improve the quality of life of Indonesian people which he called the National Transformation Strategy. In the plan, he said one of his strategic projects was to provide nutritious food for all children, including those still in the womb.
The Minister of Defense claimed that the free meal program would overcome the maternal mortality rate at birth, overcome child malnutrition, stunting, eliminate extreme poverty, absorb all the harvests of farmers and fishermen, and increase economic growth by 1.5 to 2 percent.
"We are addressing fundamental problems in improving the quality of life of the Indonesian people towards eliminating poverty from Indonesia," said Prabowo in presenting his vision and mission.
The Fifth Debate for the 2024 Presidential Election will carry the themes of education, health, employment, culture, information technology, as well as social welfare and inclusion.
The fifth series of presidential-vice presidential debates was held at the JCC, Senayan, Jakarta, Sunday 4th of February 2024 and was the final debate.
The presidential candidate debate was guided by two moderators, namely Andromeda Mercury and Dwi Anggia. The television stations hosting the last debate were TV One, ANTV and Net TV.
