TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian State-Owned Enterprise PT Angkasa Pura II recorded that over 3.75 million people mobilized from the 20 airports it managed during the Christmas and New Year holidays from Dec. 18, 2023, to Jan. 2, 2024.

"It increases 12 percent compared to the same period last year," said the Vice President of Corporate Communication AP II Cin Asmoro on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the amount of flights during this period reached 27,236 flights, or a 4 percent rise. This number, Cin Asmoro said, is in line with the company's projected numbers of 4 million passengers during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

According to Cin Asmoro, the peak of Christmas and New Year holidays return flow was on Jan. 2, which cumulatively recorded over 234,612 passengers in AP II's airports. This number is an 11 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

"The number of flights increased by 3 percent from 1,706 flights to 1,658 flights," Cin Asmoro said.

Specifically in Soekaerno-Hatta Airport, the number of passengers during the peak of return flow was 149,259 people, a 15 percent hike, with over 1,043 flights.

Despite successfully managing the peak of return flow, AP II personnel are always on standby, Cin Asmoro said. AP II and its stakeholder, Cin went on, will ensure the best services for its customers during the Christmas and New Year holidays period that ends on January 4, 2024.
