LRT Jabodebek Serves 34,000 People on New Year's Eve

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The city Light Rail Transit or LRT Jabodebek recorded a hike in passengers on Saturday, Dec. 31, as many New Year’s Eve events were held in a number of areas in Jakarta.
"The number of passengers on New Year’s evening was 34,744 from the beginning of the operating hour until the final departing hour," said the spokesperson for LRT Jabodebek Manager of Public Relations, Mahendro Trang Bawaono, in a written statement to Tempo, Monday, January 1, 2024.
Mahendro also claimed that his side did not face any disruption during the service on New Year's evening. He said that LRT operations went well even though there was a schedule extension.
"The customers welcomed the extension of operating hours," he added.
Based on the information uploaded by the Instagram account @lrt_jabodebek, the schedule extension on the early hours applied on four routes. Those include Dukuh Atas - Jati Mulya with the last departure at 00:44, Jati Mulya - Dukuh Atas at 23:47, Dukuh Atas - Harjamukti with the last departure at 00:50, and Harjamukti - Dukuh Atas at 23:55.
