TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi has led the groundbreaking of the Resort Police in the National Capital City or IKN today. The president said a total of 750 police personnel will be stationed in this post.
The IKN Resort Police will cover six sectoral police in the area. The personnel who will be stationed in the IKN Resort Police are all already located in East Kalimantan and are currently stationed in regional police resorts across the province.
The development will cost over Rp160 billion on a 12-hectare land, according to Jokowi.
Later, the security in the police station will be completed with artificial intelligence or AI technology.
In his opening remark, Jokowi stated that the building of the IKN Resort Police must be developed with a green and modern concept. "Since this is a green area and the environment is also green, I will request for the design to be slightly corrected to include a green building," he said.
The state leader also said that he expects the police station to become an example for police stations across Indonesia. "We will make an example out of [IKN Resort Police] that the Nusantara Capital City is a safe and crime-free capital city," he concluded.
