TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PLN Group signed a cooperation agreement with four local startups Kanggo, Rekosistem, Imajin, and Fresh Factory on Tuesday, November 21 in Jakarta. The four startup companies are participants of the Connext Powered by PLN program.
"The signing of this cooperation agreement is a concrete form of PLN's commitment in becoming an epicenter for energy, electricity and derivative startups, so that companies can continue to adapt to technological advances and changes in digital behavior in the modern era," said PLN's director of corporate planning and business development Hartanto Wibowo said in an official statement on Sunday, November 26, 2023.
Each of the four startups collaborates with different PLN subsidiaries. Fresh Factory partners with PLN UID West Kalimantan and PLN Icon Plus to build a cold chain warehouse network equipped with telematics technology to improve the quality of cold storage.
Rekosistem, a startup company operating in the waste to energy industry, partners with PLN Energy Management Indonesia to utilize waste as fuel for steam power plants to increase the PLN's renewable energy mix.
Kanggo works with PLN Icon Plus to provide carpentry service solutions on the Marketplace platform in the PLN Mobile application. Meanwhile, Imajin is collaborating with PT Haleyora Power to facilitate small and medium scale manufacturing businesses in using PLN's advanced machines to improve the quality and level of domestic components (TKDN) of local Indonesian products.
Hartanto hopes that PLN's synergy with these four startups can contribute to providing solutions to local problems.
"For 2024, we have prepared bigger programs than 2023. The point is that we want to become a big home of the epicenter of Indonesian startup development."
