Jokowi Arrives in Saudi Arabia; Sets to Attend ASEAN-GCC Summit

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo arrived in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, after his three-day visit to China.
The president and his entourage's plane, GIA-1, touched down at the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh at around 11:25 p.m. local time.
Jokowi and the First Lady Iriana were welcomed by the Indonesian Ambassador for Saudi Arabia Abdul Aziz Ahmad and the Defense Attache in Riyadh Brigadier General Putut Wijaksono Hadi.
Also present at the airport was the Saudi Arabian Trade Minister Majeed Al Qusaiby, Riyadh Governor Prince Faisal bin Bandar Al-Saud, Riyadh Mayor Prince Abdulaziz bin Mohammed bin Ayyaf Al Muqrin, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) SG Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi, and Saudi Arabian Ambassador for Indonesia Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Amudi.
In Riyadh, President Jokowi is scheduled to attend the ASEAN-GCC Summit, to be held at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel. Jokowi is also set to hold a bilateral meeting with Saudi Arabian PM Mohammed bin Salman Al-Saud.
