TEMPO.CO, Bandung - Passengers of the newly-launched Whoosh high-speed train willing to travel to downtown Bandung can take the feeder train at Padalarang Station starting October 3, 2023. On the first day of operation, the train transported 492 passengers from Bandung to Padalarang Station and 233 passengers from Padalarang to Bandung Station.
“The train takes 19 minutes to travel from Padalarang to Bandung Station and back, with a two-minute stop at Cimahi Station. So this feeder train serves passengers at Bandung, Cimahi, and Padalarang Station,” Takdir Santoso, the Executive Vice President of state-owned railway PT KAI Daop 2 Bandung, said in a press statement, on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.
PT KAI will provide eight feeder trains to serve the Bandung-Padalarang Station route. The train schedules follow the schedule of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway (KCJB).
Takdir explained that his side operates five KRDE trains as the feeder transport, each consisting of four train cars. One set of trains has a capacity of 200 passengers with toilet facilities, luggage racks, and power outlets.
He claimed that all facilities and infrastructure for the feeder train were fully ready after going through a series of trials and various scenarios to ensure that the Bandung-Padalarang travel time, traffic recognition, free space, grade gradient, and braking ran smoothly.
“Hopefully, this feeder train will make it easier for people to reach Padalarang station through a congestion-free and on-time transportation system,” Takdir concluded.
