Air Quality Improves this Morning in Jakarta

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The air quality in Jakarta this morning on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, shows an unusual yellow color, marking a Medium air quality, an improvement from the usual blaring red.
The air quality index from the monitoring stations of IQAir this morning ranged from 51 to 100, a contrast from the usual 151 to 200, which pointed to Unhealthy air from PM2.5 pollution.
This morning, Jakarta was placed 10 on the list of most polluted cities in the world. The PM2.5 concentration amounted to 34.5 micrograms per meter cubic or 7 times higher than the limit set by WHO.
Out of 31 monitoring stations, two of them recorded unhealthy air. These stations are installed at Kebon Jeruk which recorded 153 points and Kebayoran Lama which recorded 152 points. The rest shows orange colors (Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups) and yellow colors (Medium).
Meanwhile, the Air Pollution Standardization Index owned by the Jakarta Environmental Office shows a consistently worsening trend with two installations displaying Unhealthy air quality. These stations are installed in HI Roundabout and Lubang Buaya.
