TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The dry land around Kertajati Airport, Majalengka, West Java, caught fire on Sunday, October 1, 2023. The fire broke out at the Entrance Gate of Kertajati Airport, away from the terminal building.
Executive General Manager PT Bandara Internasional Jawa Barat (PT BIJB) Nuril Huda explained that joint apparatus from the national military, national police, Satpol PP, and Majalengka regional disaster management agency and supported with two firetrucks successfully extinguished the fire. "All operational facilities in Kertajati Airport are safe," Nuril said in a written statement quoted on Tuesday.
The fire was located outside of the terminal, taxiway, and runway. Therefore, the fire did not affect the overall activity in the airport.

The rest 116,000 liters of water came from the Ground Water Tank and the Hydrant Pillar owned by the Kertajati Airport.
"We extended our gratitude to all stakeholders involved in the [fire] management," Nuril stated. "This success is attributed to the synergy between all Kertajati Airport stakeholders included in the Aviation Safety Committee."
