TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) once again forecasted no chance of rain in Jakarta today, September 8, 2023. In the morning, all of Jakarta will see partly cloudy and partly sunny skies, and partly cloudy skies in the evening.
These days, rain is not only critical to help ease the dry season heat but also to reduce air pollution concentration in Jakarta. Without rain, the air quality in Jakarta is almost always deemed unhealthy.

From 27 air quality monitoring stations distributed across Jakarta, only three recorded unhealthy for sensitive groups, colored orange. The rest are a glaring red, marking the air quality as unhealthy.
The stations recorded the most polluted air in Pulomas, Kayuputih at 188, followed by AHP-Capital Place at 182, Gran Melia Jakarta at 182, Jeruk Purut at 182, and Kemang V at 178.
Meanwhile, according to the air pollution index calculated by the Environmental Office of Jakarta, only Lubang Buaya in East Jakarta is deemed unhealthy, while the other four stations showed the index for PM2.5 in Kebon Jeruk, HI Roundabout, Kelapa Gading, and Jagakarsa recorded a medium PM2.5 pollution.
