Indonesia Allots Rp35.37T for IKN Infrastructure Development in 2024, PUPR Minister Says

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Minister for Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono revealed the budget plan for infrastructure development in the Nusantara State Capital (IKN) in 2024. The budget will be allocated to four development categories, namely water resources, spatial planning and development, human settlements, and housing.
"The budget plan for IKN fundamental infrastructure development in 2024 amounts to Rp35.37 trillion," he said during the working meeting with Commission V of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
The budget plan for water resources development reaches Rp1.5 trillion. The projects included in this development are the flood management in the Sepaku River, the development of the Sepaku Semoi Dam, and the Pamaluan River watershed.
Meanwhile, spatial planning and development is set to spend Rp16.67 trillion. the PUPR Ministry will develop access to the mosques in IKN and the Logistic Harbor, as well as the development of the west and east sides of Sumbu Kebangsaan Street.
In addition, the ministry will develop the feeder streets in the IKN area, toll roads, and an airport.
Furthermore, in the human settlement category, the PUPR ministry plans for an Rp11.44 trillion budget for several projects. The projects mentioned are the development of water installation and the supporting dam for the water supply system in Sepaku along with its pipe networks.
The ministry will also build several ministerial offices such as the Coordinating Ministries, State Secretariat Ministry, PUPR Ministry, and the IKN Authority, as well as the Presidential Palace area.
Basuki also mentioned that the agreement for the development of the civil servant housing complex has been inked and will begin this year.
