TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - One of the Basarnas Head Graft Case suspects, Mulsunadi Gunawan, the Main Commissioner of PT Multi Grafika Cipta Sejati, undergoes examination in Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) today, on Monday, July 31, 2023.
"According to the information we received, it is true that today, on Monday, the Basarnas graft case suspect (MG) fulfilled KPK's summon accompanied by his attorney Juniver Girsang," said KPK Head of News Division Ali Fikri in Jakarta.
"The investigators are currently conducting an examination and we will ensure the suspect's rights are being honored in accordance with the law," Ali added.
Previously, Mulsunadi Gunawan has been named a suspect in the graft case involving the Head of Basarnas Marsdya Henri Affiandi last week, on Wednesday, July 26, 2023. He was caught after KPK conducted a sting operation, arresting three people; Marilya, Director of PT Intertekno Grafika Sejati, the Director of PT Kindah Abadi Utama Roni Aidil, Administration Coordinator Basarnas Lieutenant Colonel Afri Budi Cahyanto. KPK confiscated Rp999.7 million during the arrest.
The money would be delivered to the Head of Basarnas Marsdya Henri Alfiandi. "Based on the information and data we received, (Henri) has pocketed graft funds amounting to Rp88.3 billion along with (Afri Budi) from various vendors in Basarnas' projects from 2021 to 2023," said the Co-Chairman of KPK Alexanded Marwata while naming the suspects.
Meanwhile, the Joint Military Police Center of TNI believed that KPK's action to name the Head of Basarnas and its Administration Coordinator as suspects violated the law. According to the Center, KPK is not authorized to name them as suspects since both men are active members of Indonesia's military forces.
