TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice President of Indonesia Ma'ruf Amin will inaugurate the development of Central Papua's provincial government office in Nabire today, Thursday, July 13, 2023. The inauguration will be marked with a ceremonial foundation stone laying. "The vice president will speak with Central Papuan farmers who are members of HIPETA," said the Press, Media, and Information Bureau of the Vice President Secretariat, on Thursday, July 13, 2023.
Prior to his visit to Nabire, Ma'ruf Amin visited Mimika Regency in Central Papua. His arrival at the Douw Aturure Nabire Airport was welcomed by Nabire Regent Mesak Magai and the members of the Coordinating Forum of the Central Papua Provincial Government Leaders.
"The Vice President heard a brief presentation concerning the progress of New Nabire Airport development relayed by Airport Executive Agus Heriyanto. The New Nabire Airport in Central Papua is a relocation from the previous airport which is no longer being developed," the press stated.
The development of New Nabire Airport is the implementation of National Strategic Projects regulated under Presidential Regulation No. 109 of 2020 on the Third Amendment of Presidential Regulation No. 3 of 2016 concerning the Progress of Acceleration of the Implementation of National Strategic Projects.
After the activities in Nabire Regency, Ma'ruf and his entourage will head to Fakfak Regency, West Papua, on a CN 295 plane. On this visit, Ma'ruf Amin is accompanied by Indonesian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Admiral Yudo Margono, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs John Wempi Wetipo, Deputy Minister of Environment and Forestry Alue Dohong, Acting Governor of Central Papua Ribka Haluk, Military Area Command Commander-in-Chief XVII/Cenderawasih Indonesian Armed Forces Major General Izak Pangemanan, Regional Chief of Police General Inspector of Police Matthius D. Fakhiri, and the entourage from the Vice President Palace.
