KPK Probes Alleged Bribery Involving Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) launched an investigation into the alleged corruption at the Ministry of Agriculture which involves Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo and two of the latter’s staff.

Based on information received by Tempo, the anti-graft agency is examining the alleged bribery that ensnared the NasDem politician and other ministry officials identified as KSD and HTA based on the inquiry warrant issued on January 16, 2023.

The KPK Director of Investigation, Senior Commissioner Asep Guntur Rahayu, confirmed the information. “That's right, the investigation is still ongoing,” Asep said when contacted by Tempo on Wednesday, June 14, 2023.

However, he stopped short of disclosing articles related to the alleged case and the role of the three.

Tempo obtained information that the KPK is exploring the alleged misuse of the state budget spending report (SPJ) and alleged bribery in the Ministry of Agriculture for the 2019-2023 period.

Tempo is still trying to reach the Agriculture Ministry and NasDem Party for responses regarding the involvement of Syahrul Yasin Limpo in the alleged bribery.
