TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: National Mandate Party scheduled a meeting on Sunday (19/4) in Jakarta to discuss the party's position as the election result was published continuously by the election commission. The party won 6.2 percent of popular votes so far, the fifth largest among 44 contesting parties.Head of Yogyakarta chapter of National Mandate Party Immawan Wahyudi said chairman of provincial chapters were invited to the meeting at Amien Rais residence in Yogyakarta. A anonymous source from the party said Amien, former party leader and former chairman of the upper house of the parliament, is likely to push for a coalition with the leading Democratic Party, an option that differ from what the current party leader, Sutrisno Bachir, is weighing.Amien had been appearing in televised interviews telling about his meetings and conversations with President Yudhoyono, while Sutrisno Bachir have met with several parties after the election including with GolKar Party, and Indonesia Democratic Party of Struggle, and once with the Democratic Party before the legislative election.The party to be the second to convene its regional officials after the legislative election after similar meeting by Golkar Party.BERNADA RURIT
