Moeldoko Prepares 42 Experts as Spokespeople for the Presidential Staff Office

16 March 2023 12:52 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Presidential Staff Office or KSP is giving a two-day training to 42 experts and special presidential staff, to become spokespeople for units who assist President Joko Widodo or Jokowi. The KSP calls it an effort to effectively communicate the government's work to the public.

In the training, the spokespeople are prepared to provide accurate and educative information to the public through media broadcasts. Moeldoko, the Presidential Chief of Staff, said the office wants to present the best information to the public about the real situations in the government's work environment.

"KSP is not a Google engine. It consists of 42 humans as spokespeople of the office, who are experts in their respective fields," Moeldoko said in a written statement, Thursday, March 16.

Moeldoko emphasized that KSP is always ready to disseminate government work to the public in public spaces. That way, the KSP will actively become a mouthpiece for the Jokowi and Ma'ruf Amin administration.

"Regarding criticism that KSP dominates the public space too much, I don't care. Because the government has been working for the people. If we don't say something, then the people will think the government isn't doing anything," Moeldoko said.

He added that KSP's advantage is data, and that the office must think about how the data can be spoken in "a language that can be accepted by the public".
