TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Kereta Cepat Indonesia Cina (KCIC) corporate secretary Rahadian Ratry on Sunday evening said the developer of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail is currently waiting for the completion of the project’s cost overrun discussion, which he said is entering the final phase.
"Regarding the discussion of cost overruns, we are currently entering the final stage of negotiations between the consortium and the governments of Indonesia and China," Rahadian said to Tempo on January 15.
Rahadian also explained developments regarding state capital injection (PMN) that was still in the process of being distributed from Indonesian shareholders to KCIC. The development of KCJB operational readiness is currently still ongoing and faces a tight launch schedule of June 2023.
Facilities that are going to be built in one of Indonesia’s ambitious projects, he added, focus on commuter accessibility, with some examples being the sky bridge that will connect the LRT station and the high-speed rail Halim Station. Other facilities include bridges connecting the Deltamas housing to the Karawang station, and another pedestrian accessway from Kota Baru Parahyangan to the train station.
“The private sector will also contribute to constructing access ways to the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail. This is surely a positive aspect in increasing public mobility,” he explained.
