TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The South Jakarta provincial government has started visually improving the public facilities on the street directly facing the ASEAN secretariat headquarters. This comes ahead of the Southeast Asian intergovernmental union’s summit planned to be held this year in Jakarta.
The acting governor of the capital city gave the orders aimed at preparing venues and urban areas that will be used for the events at the summit, the South Jakarta mayor Munjirin wrote in a statement on Sunday, January 15.
“This is in accordance with Jakarta acting governor Heru Budi Hartono’s orders to visually improve [the area] for the ASEAN summit this year,” the mayor wrote.
Sidewalks, drainage systems, and trees were jointly maintained in the program conducted by Jakarta’s public facility maintenance agency (PPSU), park and forestry sub-agency, Bina Marga, city environmental sub-agency, and more.
