TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Acting Jakarta Governor Heru Budi Hartono instructed the Bina Marga Agency to be responsive in anticipating and dealing with the impacts of extreme weather by immediately visiting damaged roads.
“I asked the agency’s head to work and move immediately, especially to places where the areas really need to be repaired. Visit the areas and work,” said Heru Budi in Pulogebang, East Jakarta, on January 4, 2022.
He said the procurement of dozens of operational service equipment and vehicles used the 2022 Jakarta Regional Budget (APBD) through e-catalogs. The Bina Marga Agency was also urged to carry out routine maintenance so that they can be used to serve the community well.
“Because they are still new and in good condition. I'll entrust it to be treated. Hopefully, it will be useful for community service,” Heru Budi said.
Head of the Jakarta Bina Marga Agency, Hari Nugroho, said the procurement of operational service equipment and vehicles was executed because his side had by far used vehicles and equipment from the 2,000 procurements, which were more than 10 years old.
The vehicles, he added, were thus no longer able to support the acceleration of handling the impacts of extreme weather in the capital.
“Regarding the budget, it’s from the APBD through an e-catalog. So, we purchase domestic products if available. We focus on that. If there are no domestic products, we will then buy foreign ones,” claimed Hari.
