TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Transportation Agency chief Syafrin Liputo said that they have prepared 4,300 parking spaces at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) for the 2023 New Year's Eve celebration. Two hundred parking spaces are provided for buses, 3,100 for cars, and 1,000 for motorcycles.
The Department of Transportation has also coordinated with a number of building managers in the TMII area requesting to have their properties used as buffer zones for additional parking spaces to anticipate an increase in visitors.
"If the parking areas inside [Taman Mini] are full, visitors will be directed towards one of four additional parking spaces," Syafrin said during an interactive dialogue on 'Readiness of the Jakarta Provincial Government in Approaching the New Year' held on Wednesday, 28 December.
The four additional parking spaces are located at the At-Tin Mosque, the Pertiwi Purna Bhakti Museum, the Pencak Silat Building, and the TPI field.
Syafrin also urges people to use public transportation, especially those coming late before the turn of the year at midnight.
