TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs (Kemenkop UKM) Teten Masduki assured the public that his ministry will remain proactive in solving sexual violence cases that involved a number of employees in the Ministry back in 2019. Teten also emphasized on fulfilling and restoring the rights of the victim after this case came to light again.
"One of our further efforts is to coordinate with the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK)," Teten Masduki stated in a written statement on Thursday, November 3, 2022.
Teten made it clear that the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs needed LPSK to ensure that victims' rights from the aspect of psychological recovery could be fulfilled. LPSK plans to monitor the condition of the victim and provide psychological services so as not to experience stress.
LPSK Deputy Chairperson, Edwin Partogi, stated that he would immediately schedule psychological assistance for the victim after receiving information from the victim's family that there had been a change in attitude since the incident occurred.
Minister Teten claimed that he is ensuring that the victims' rights as non-tenured employees will be fulfilled.
