TEMPO.CO, JakartaFormer British Prime Minister Tony Blair expressed optimism about Indonesia. He opined that Indonesia could be the fourth-largest economy in the world as the country has various advantages to pursuing sustainable economic growth.

These advantages include natural resources, digital talent, and demographic aspects. “Indonesia is committed to realizing its grand reform program,” Tony said at the SOE International Conference in Nusa Dua, Bali, as quoted from Antara, Tuesday, October 18, 2022.

He also hoped that Indonesia can become one of the leading nations in the world. This is because Indonesia's capabilities are supported by excellence in strong and strategic leadership.

Tony attended the SOE International Conference in Nusa Dua, which was part of the G20 Trade, Investment, and Industry Working Group (TIIWG).

The conference was held as the government's commitment to supporting the implementation of the Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the health sector, financial inclusion, digital transformation, and energy transition.

During the conference, Tony Blair along with the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan and SOE Minister Erick Thohir visited the exhibition of green innovations by a number of SOEs.
