TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The questioning of Papua Governor Lukas Enembe by Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)investigators on Monday was postponed due to the governor’s health condition. He was initially scheduled to undergo questioning at the Jayapura City police criminal investigation unit (Bareskrim) headquarters.
Enembe’s lawyer, Sthephanus Roy Rening, replaced the governor at the Brimob headquarters along with the team and spokesperson for the Papua Governor, Muhammad Rifai Darus.
"The governor's legs are still swollen, he has difficulties walking and his vocal cords are having issues too," said Rifai Darus on Monday, September 12. "However, the Governor of Papua advised that throughout his term as governor of Papua for 10 years, he had never received a single percent of the money from businessmen and always used the APBD (regional budget) according to its designation.”
The spokesperson also insisted that Lukas Enembe never involved himself in illegal projects and had always authorized it to regional work units (SKPD) and that spending only referred to regional budgets (APBD).
