TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bogor Traffic Police have reportedly prepared several traffic schemes to anticipate a traffic surge in Puncak during the Eid al-Adha holiday this year.
According to Bogor Traffic Police official Iptu Ketut Laswarjana, there has been no increase in traffic volume in the Puncak area. “[The traffic in Puncak is] still smooth in both directions,” he said, as quoted from the traffic police's official website.
Ketut iterated that his side would implement the odd-even traffic policy for the vehicles heading to Puncak at 14:00. The regulation was set since Friday, July 8.
As stated in Transportation Ministry Regulation No. 84/2021, the odd-even policy in Puncak is set on D-1 of every national holiday and every weekend from Friday to Saturday until Sunday.
“(The odd-even policy) will still be implemented on Friday, as stated in the regulation,” he added.
As for Saturday and Sunday, which is in line with the Eid al-Adha holiday, the police planned to return the traffic in Puncak. The step aims to ease the mobility of the public aiming to perform Eid al-Adha prayers.
“During Eid prayers, everything will be normal since many locals will want to pray Eid. Let's see the traffic volume, if it's dense, we'll implement the one-way policy,” Ketut remarked.
