TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The number of Covid-19 patients in the capital city of Jakarta has increased by 735 people, which according to the Jakarta Health Agency on Sunday came from testing 10,120 PCR testing specimens.
"From the number of tests, 8,919 people were tested by PCR today to diagnose new cases with 735 positive and 8,184 negative results," said Jakarta Health Agency Head Dwi Oktavia in a written statement, Sunday, June 19.
7,280 people underwent antigen testing today that resulted in 258 positives and 7,022 negatives. Dwi ensured that the antigen samples that were positive for Covid-19 were not included in the total positive cases because they had to be reconfirmed through PCR examination.
Today's active cases rose by 456. Thus, the total number of patients who are still being treated or undergoing isolation is 4,980 people. "We also urge the public to be aware of the transmission of the Omicron variant," he said.
The total number of Covid-19 patients from the beginning of the pandemic to today has reached 1,257,964. From this number, 1,237,676 people recovered and 15,308 died with a recovery rate of 98.4 percent and a mortality rate of 1.2 percent.
