TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) of Bogor, West Java, recorded an increase in hotel occupancy rate in the Puncak region during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday period, with most hotels having 70 percent room occupancy.
"Occupancy in general probably around 60 to 70 percent. Now there are no more restrictions, people can take leave, allowed to go on mudik. So they can make direct reservations or online," said Deputy Chairman of PHRI of Bogor Regency Boboy Ruswanto on Thursday, May 5, 2022.
According to Boboy, such conditions were not predicted by PHRI. Boboy asserted that the increase was supported by the online room reservation system.
Boboy explained that since Eid Al-Fitr holiday two years ago, visitors seldomly reserve rooms online. Moreover, the government continues to apply changing policies.
Boboy also stated that hotel visitors are still obliged to implement health protocols to prevent Covid-19 despite the number of cases in Bogor having already declined.
In addition, Boboy said that PHRI hoped to have information concerning the schedule for traffic alteration in Puncak area during Eid holiday season to prevent people from canceling their visit because of congested traffic.
