TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecasts varying degrees of rain intensity across a number of Indonesian regions from light drizzle up to rainstorm.
The agency has detected a low pressure zone in the Southwest area of Banten that has formed a convergence zone throughout the length of West Sumatra's west coast that reaches Lampung on Wednesday.
BMKG has also detected cyclonic circulation above Kalimantan, West Papua's northern pacific ocean, and the Arafura Sea that forms a converged zone across the areas.
Other convergence zones include Aceh, North Sumatra, Bangka Belitung Islands, southern areas of the Java Island, South Kalimantan, Central Sulawesi, and reaching up to Papua.
These conditions will increase potential growth of rain clouds along the cyclonic circulation zones and convergence zones.
Provinces likely to see rainstorms, according to BMKG, are Banjarmasin, Tanjung Pinang, Kupang and Medan. While high intensity rainfall will likely cover Yogyakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Samarinda and Palembang.
