TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Health Agency planned to set up COVID-19 vaccination posts at bus terminals across the capital to provide vaccine services for people willing to go for mudik or Eid homecoming. The agency head Widyastuti said the plan is under discussion.
“Basically, the service is available at the terminals on D-7 of Eid al-Fitr,” said Widyastuti to Tempo today, April 7.
However, she said the city wanted to open the post earlier than usual, which is not a week before the Islamic holiday. Besides, the posts will not open every day. The agency is still discussing the exact time with the terminal management.
“We are coordinating with the head of the terminals about the time and place so the post can operate more optimally,” she said, adding that it does not mean the post will open in line with the homecoming period.
“We suggest people not to get the vaccine just before the mudik trip. Make sure to get the vaccine long before it so we are in a healthy state and already obtain protection [for the trip],” Widyastuti underlined.
As of Thursday, April 7, Jakarta has administered the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to 12,483,133 people, or 123.8 percent of the target. The second dose vaccination coverage also reached 105 percent of the target or 10,585,620 people. As for the booster vaccine, the total hit 2,847,999 people.
