TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta administration has prepared steps to take discretion regarding the 100-percent face-to-face learning or PTM policy if the COVID-19 positive cases in schools reach more than five percent through the active case finding (ACF) method.
“The number of positive cases via ACF is still below five percent. That means it is below the normal threshold,” said Jakarta Education Agency spokesman Taga Radja Gah in Jakarta, Wednesday, Feb. 2.
Due to this fact, the city administration continued to implement full PTM according to the current regulations, which are a joint decree or SKB of 4 ministers and PPKM Level 2 status that allows on-site studies at 100 percent capacity.
The 100-percent PTM could be reduced to 50 percent if Jakarta enters PPKM Level 3.
At present, if students, teachers, or employees in schools are exposed to COVID-19, the classroom activities are temporarily suspended and switched to the distance learning method or PJJ for five days.
During the school closures, the Health Agency will conduct PCR swab tests on people who were in close contact with those exposed to the virus. “If the result is negative, PTM will resume. Indeed the most important thing is health,” Taga asserted.
On February 1, the number of COVID-19 cases in Jakarta increased by 6,391 in a day, the highest addition of positive cases nationally.
