TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - Tangerang Regency had to postpone the booster rollout, initially scheduled today, January 12, due to lack of stock. The regency's Covid-19 Task Force spokesman Hendra Tarmizi said that they have not received Pfizer and AstraZeneca for the booster jabs.
"We cannot start today. We have rescheduled it to Thursday or Friday," he told Tempo, Wednesday.
According to Hendra, as of noon today the booster supply from the Banten Province's Health Service had not arrived.
"We have prepared the place and the parties involved, even now everything is ready. But we don’t have the booster vaccines yet,” he said.
Tangerang Regency, he said, only has Sinovac supplies, but the boosters have to be Pfizer and AstraZeneca.
In Tangerang Regency, 27,000 elderly are prioritized to receive boosters. The regency's secretary, Moch. Maesyal Rasyid, said that the regency will also prioritize public servants, members of the TNI and the police, as well as religious leaders as first recipients of the booster.
