TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan monitored the COVID-19 vaccination for children aged 6-11 years at Cempaka Putih Timur 03 Elementary School (SDN), Central Jakarta, this morning. Anies arrived at the school at around 7:45 a.m. and started monitoring the registration, health checks, and injection process by healthcare workers.
In the injection section, Anies was seen trying to calm students who seemed tense several times. He whispered something to them before the injection took place.
Jakarta kick off the vaccination for children aged 6-11 years today simultaneously. The Central Jakarta Education II Head Uripasih explained there were 176 doses of vaccine prepared for the vaccination at SDN Cempaka Putih Timur 03.
Other than in Cempaka Putih Timur, the vaccination was also held in SDN Johar Baru 09, SDN Harapan Mulia 01, and SDN Kenari 01 with a quota of 50 vaccine doses each. “There are a total of 326 doses in my area (Central Jakarta),” Uripasih added.
