Police Arrest Main Suspect of Papua's Yahukimo Riot

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The police on Saturday, at around 03:40 Eastern Indonesia Time, arrested the alleged main perpetrator of riots that broke in Yahukimo, Papua. The fugitive, Morume Keyo Busup, nabbed at Jalan Gunung in Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency.
"We have arrested the fugitive," Papua Police chief of public relations department, Sr. Commissioner Ahmad Musthofa Kamal, in a written statement on Saturday, October 9.
Th arrest was done by a joint team of Yahukimo Resort Police and Nemangkawi Task Force, as well as Aman Nusa Task Force. It was led by Yahukimo Police Chief AKBP Deni Herdiana. Besides Morume, the authorities also arrested another one named Beto Orodias.
Kamal said that Morume was the main fugitive of the attack against the people of Yali Tribe on October 3, in Dekai District, Yahukimo. He was the leader of Kimyal Tribe.
