TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Attorney General's Office has named the House of Representatives (DPR) Energy Commission deputy chair Alex Noerdin as a suspect in the alleged corruption case at the South Sumatra Regional Mining and Energy Company (PDPDE Sumsel).

Supardi, director of investigations at the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes, said that in addition to Alex, investigators also named the former Commissioner of the South Sumatra PDPDE, Muddai Madang, as a suspect.

Supardi said the two were named suspects after undergoing examination since 09:00 Jakarta time.

The AGO's head of the legal information Leonard Eben Ezer Simanjuntak said Alex is suspected of requesting and allocation of the state's share from the Oil and Gas Management Agency (BP Migas) for the South Sumatra PDPDE.

"Suspect AN approved the cooperation between South Sumatra PDPDE and PT Dika Karya Lintas Nusa (DKLN) to establish PT PDPDE Gas, with the intention of using the South Sumatra PDPDE as means to obtain the state's share of gas allocation," Leonard said in Jakarta,  Thursday, September 16.
